Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an better serve.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky opponent, securing four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair traded breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet rescued four early chances in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
