Heartbroken HK Locals in Disbelief as Massive Blaze Destroys Residential Complexes

Young scholar an eyewitness was among the numerous residents drawn to the site of a fatal fire that swept through large portions of the eight-block housing complex in the city's northern district.

At least over three dozen people have lost their lives in yesterday's destructive blaze so far, with numerous still unaccounted for, leading to expectations that this count will possibly increase.

"It's a catastrophe," the student commented about the blaze, noting that he had observed a body being removed from the location.

Over a thousand additional residents were forced to leave the development as the flames expanded, with several making their way to emergency centers that have been established to accommodate them.

The blaze is progressively being controlled, but officials state they cannot determine when it will be fully extinguished.

Fire could be witnessed emanating from specific units as countless residents looked on in stillness.
