Prosecutors have downgraded a number of grave sex abuse allegations against longtime media personality and ex- Australian rugby coach the media figure after a legal proceeding this Thursday.

The defendant currently confronts twenty-seven charges which assert that he sexually touched nine men across twenty years.

Multiple allegations of serious sexual misconduct - deemed more serious as they purportedly involved people under his authority - were reduced Thursday. Several counts were also completely withdrawn.

The well-known 84 year old personality has denied all charges and the legal matter - which will be adjudicated by a judicial officer, not a jury - will be heard again in the coming month.

Presiding Magistrate the magistrate mentioned that there was a restructuring of the proceedings after two complainants stepped back, although there was no clarification explaining why they were no longer part of the matter.

Mr Jones now faces twenty five allegations of indecent assault and two counts of unwanted touching.

His attorney his solicitor stated in proceedings the dropped charges were a "significant development" and "notable让步," based on news accounts.

"There is no suggestion that... he wielded these accusers under his control. He did not have authority regarding these complainants," Mr Wrench said.

Police have earlier stated some of the accusers knew the media personality directly, and that a complainant had been employed by him.
