Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed operations across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Regional Interceptions

That US-Israeli operation - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted areas associated with the Iranian leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.

It said missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
