In the final seconds, sheer ecstasy broke out for Chelsea and interim manager Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola in a state of despair and handed the temporary Chelsea manager a unforgettable moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane was the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch, making the memory of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Stark Contrast in Pedigree

On the home bench was the most decorated manager of his time, a man with four decades of silverware for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the opposite technical area, stood a former coach at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had worked in City's own academy and arrived to make his senior managerial bow after being seconded from his regular role overseeing Chelsea's youth teams.
