The carrier will offer complimentary quick in-flight wifi by way of Starlink partnership

Passengers flying with British Airways can soon enjoy fast wifi in the air at no cost after a new agreement with SpaceX's communications provider.

Free plus Quick Wifi for All

British Airways revealed that the no-cost, “fast and dependable” wifi provision through Starlink is set to be available for customers in economy, business, and premium cabins from next month.

Broad Deployment Over Various Carriers

The umbrella firm of British Airways, the airline group, announced it had reached an agreement with SpaceX to provide internet access on more than 500 jets within the group's airlines, such as the Irish airline, Iberia, and the low-cost airline.

Smooth Connectivity from Boarding to Arrival

British Airways noted that the rollout for the service formed part of a seven billion pound “upgrade” plan and would offer lag-free wifi service for flyers starting at boarding through landing, even when they are flying above seas or remote regions.

Travelers may hook up multiple devices and do not need a separate access code.

“Gamechanging for us and travelers, elevating their experience onboard our flights through providing them continuous internet from gate to gate.”

Current Wifi Options

Restricted internet service is currently offered to British Airways passengers through nearly all of its aircraft using their .air service.

Enrollees of BA’s frequent flyer program are able to dispatch messages and text-based messages during flights at no cost, while travelers looking to access music, films, and films throughout their travel and are not travelling in premium cabins might be charged between £4.99 to twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for a internet plan.

The Satellite Network

The provider maintains a constellation of thousands of spacecraft which is run under Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

Ongoing Improvements at the Airline

BA's leadership are striving to turn the airline again after a long time with budget reductions, system failures, industrial action, and staff cuts.

The airline stated that implementation of artificial intelligence had helped it to reach the airline's on-time performance at record highs from over a decade ago.

Profit Outlook

Earlier this year, British Airways announced a rise in earnings for the first six months of this year, contributing to IAG’s results higher.

The group is due to announce its financial performance for Q3 this summer soon.

Other Starlink Deals

British Airways’ news follows days following mobile phone provider Virgin Media O2 said it was partnering alongside the satellite provider to improve wireless connectivity in rural parts in Britain, enabling users to easily hook up handsets via space-based systems if there is no standard network coverage exists.
